The Darling River Run is an iconic outback trip which starts at Lightning Ridge and follows the Darling River through Bourke, Louth, Tilpa, Wilcannia, Menindee, Pooncarrie and finally Mildura where it meets the Murray River. We will be staying in a mixture of caravan parks and at cattle/sheep station properties which have amenities. We will visit outback stations and now that the mighty Darling is flowing again we will camp by its banks in a few places. There are opportunities for side trips for those who have not been to places such as White Cliffs and time to see the old buildings of Wilcannia and of course the now full lakes at Menindee. It is a caravan friendly trip but be prepared for lots of dirt roads, dust and corrugations.
