The trip to Lost City

On 27th of January 2007, the 4WD club had a trip to Lost City. Anthony Baker was the trip leader. The participants met at McDonalds in Lithgow. Seven families came: Anthony Baker and his family, Steve, Rose and their son, Ian and Rhonda Mckinley, Slatts and his family, Hedley Hall, Nevelle and his wife, Fung and his family. The trip began around 9:15 a.m...

Firstly, Anthony led us to enter the State Forest via the Lithgow entrance. The first track was a side track, but this track was of grade 4-5 (very hard). However, we all enjoyed this track.

For the second track, we went to the opposite side of the Lost City (a new unknown track). The road was bumpy and steep. Sometimes, yelling and screams were heard. However we felt very happy after we overcame the difficulty. The Lost City was beautiful and lovely. The scenery was so attractive.

The third track, we went down from the side of the Lost City (a new unknown track). On the way, we met another group of people driving 4WD cars. Then we went back to powerlines along Zigzag Railway entrance. This track seemed not so hard in first glance, but actually there were many big humps along the track. Some cars were with wheel in the air. It was very exciting and scary.

Then we longed to the Slippy rock and had lunch along track to normal side of Lost City. After lunch, we went up to Lost City. At the bottom part of the uphill track, there was a big muddy field. We had to bypass those muddy holes. Only one car could drive up the track from the muddy tracks. Although this track was very hard, but we all loved the challenge.

We drove to the Lost City and cut across to new unknown track to distant ridge of Lost City. Finally, we drove out to the aboriginal caves and back to home. We all had a great time during the trip and had wonderful memory.
